At Linkage Labs, we help businesses leverage AI effectively -- so it was only fitting that we used AI to help develop our own tagline. Here's how the process unfolded.
Starting Point:
We began with "Demystifying AI, Empowering Growth." I loved how it captured our mission, but our commitment to making implementation easier and simpler meant we needed to make it more accessible for our audience. This kicked off my journey of exploration and iteration using AI. The model I chose was Claude -- I find it to be better at writing tasks.
The AI-Enabled Process:
First, I set the foundation by using AI to analyze our brand documents, mission statement, and target audience profiles. This helped surface key themes and values that needed to be represented: accessibility, practicality, empowerment, and transformation. These became my North Star for evaluating options.
Next, I fed various tagline options into AI for analysis. Rather than just generating random options, we systematically explored combinations of our core themes. The AI evaluated each option against our brand criteria and provided insights on strengths and potential weaknesses. Each iteration sparked new ideas and helped eliminate options that were too narrow or generic.
The real breakthrough came when using AI as a brainstorming partner. AI helped me test different word combinations and their implications, leading to an important shift from "demystifying" to "simplifying." By exploring different combinations of our core themes while balancing sophistication and accessibility, the AI helped generate variations that we might not have considered. Each iteration brought us closer to our goal.
The Result: "Simplifying AI, Empowering Growth"
This final tagline strikes the perfect balance -- it's straightforward yet powerful, accessible yet aspirational. It tells both what we do (simplify AI) and why it matters (empowering growth), while remaining flexible enough to evolve with our services.
The Irony: We used AI to help craft a tagline about making AI more accessible. It's a perfect example of practicing what we preach -- leveraging AI as a tool to enhance, not replace, human creativity and strategic thinking.
The Lesson: When it comes to branding decisions, AI can be an invaluable thinking partner. It helped us explore more options, analyze them systematically, and ultimately arrive at a tagline that perfectly captures our mission.
